REPAIRS TO TEE NAVARINO. Mossrs. W. Cable and Co. are the sue-" cossful contractors, for , the repairs to the b.s. Navarina, which, put into port on Monday last while on a voyage from Newcastle to Valparaiso. It is understood that the damaged portion of the machinery consists of a broken valve spindle on the main engines. This is being repaired, together with tho varioUß other parts of the machinery that were affected at the time of tho breakdown. It" is /interesting to noto that' the, vessel's . engines are triple, expansion, and through .'this spindle;' or rod,-carrying away,- the -engineers wero forccd to convert the"steamer into a com*, pound engine vessel."
