Sir Wilfrid Laurie}', Prime Minister of Canada, in a speecli in British Columbia, declared that' Canadian trade was destined to cover the Pacific, as British trade covered the Atlantic. ■ That was Canada's ideal and aim. "For twentythree years," declared Sir Wilfrid Laurier, "I have striven to make - the Dominion great, and to maintain the British connection." ' -
