Dowling gave every satisfaction .as judge, and Mr. H. Webb was an efficient slipper: To give th 6 public a practical interest in the sport, the committee had devised a-novel nominating scheme. Each person paying for admission at the gato •received u small card, 011 which was a space for Ilia name and address, and the name of the t w o dogs which, in his opinion, would prove the winners of the cup and purse. The successful nominator is to receive a .£l2 bicycle. On the box being opened it was found that, according to the lirst day's running, there were seventeen nominators who still have their dogs in the stake. It is expected that to-morrow, ! being a half-holiday, a largo-crowd-will be in attendance to seo the finals, which will be run at the close of the meeting. To-day's results:— ' Mannwatti Cup.
