WINDING UP A GOOD SJSAUON. From tho first inception of hunting in the Horowhonua district interest in the 3port has' quickly and surely increased; and it riuist bu very gratifying to thoso who have spared neither pains nor e.\penso in working for the advancement of tho. sport to know that their efforts have mot with such success. • This year's hunting season closed with the "meet" at Otaki on Aiumst C, and it is proposed to finish up with ar. afternoon's fun, equally interesting to huntsmen and tho public, in tho form of a point-to-point • ytceplcchaso 'mooting. With tliis object in view ■ a meeting of members was held at Mana- : kau on .Friday, evening, last, August'2C. ■There was a largo attendance, principally from Otaki and Maiinknu, Levin being represented by the secretary.
