At Sheepshead Bay, near Coney Island, wireless communication was successfully established between an aeroplano, flying at an altitude of 500 feet, and a land station a mile distant. This is stated to be • the first occasion on which wireless telegraphy has been used on an aeroplane. LONG FLIGHT IN , SWITZERLAND. (Rec August 29, 10.10 p.m.). Geneva, August 29.. M. Dufaux, a Swiis airman, on a biplane of his own design, flew from Noville to Collonges, a distance of 49 miles, in 50 minutes G seconds. MR, LATHAM RETIRING'.- ; '. Paris, August ,28. According to French newspapers, Mr. Latham, the well-known British aviator who competed against M. Paulham for the "Daily Mail" prize and has broken a number of records; and M. Dubonnet are abandoning aeronautics. FRENCH AVIATOR INJURED. Paris, August 28. M. Le Gagneux, an aviator, was aeroplaning at Havre, when his machine somersaulted twice, and then fell to the ground. Le Gagneux was badly injured, and the machino was wrecked.
