It has been arranged to hold a "social" on September 12, at which a number of prominent members of the Opposition party will give addresses. Although it. is understood that Mr. W. T. Anyhow,'both parties are making an early start, which portends a great fight for the Palmerstou seat at the next general election. It was a bitter pill to the Government to lose the seat, and no effort will be spared to regain it.'
