; THE HOME TEAM SELECTED. Messrs. J. Paton, H. G. Mayer, and A, Williams (tlio official selectors) havo chosen tlio following fifteen players to represent Wellington in the Brown Shield challengo match, Auckland v. Wellington, to bo played hero probably on September 10:—Goal-keeper, Webster; full-backs, Pye-Sniith, Cornish, and Roberts; halfbacks, Kirschberg, - Bradbury, Jackson, and Paget; forwards, Smallbone, Vessey, Gibson, A. Mouat, Edwards, Trevethick, and Slater. The team is requested to meet at tho Basin Reserve on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, at 7.30 p.m. BOYS' REPRESENTATIVE GAME. The following teams havo been selected to play a trial game at Kelburne Park next Saturday afternoon, m connection with the selection of a representative .team for the boys' match, Otago v. Wellington:— "A" team (Marist colours).—Nimmo (goal-keeper), Aicken, and Sheehy (fullbacks), F. Thomas, A. Marshall, Nicol (halves), Johnson, Carmody, Fitzgerald, Grindrod, Morris (forwards). "B". team (Y.M.C.A. colours).—Burrows (goal-keeper), Bell, and Thompson (fullbacks), Baldwin, Hindmarsh, and Walker (halves), Waller, Bowden, Bates, Richards, Homo (forwards). Emergencies: Davis, Rotheram, Dewdney, Curry, Hill, Cusack, and Wilton. Practices will 'be held at Kelburne on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, at 4.30 o'clock, and the team will 1m finally selected after next Saturday's . trial.
