BOATING FATALITY.
THREE BROTHERS DROWNED. . By TolsffTftpb—Tress ,Association-(iopyTiEhl. •-■ (Rec. August 29, 0.40 a.m.) , Melbourne, August 28. A boating fatality occurred in Hobson's Bay to-day. Threo brothers named Ritter, aged twenty-seven, fourteen, and ten respectively, ' were drowned whilo fishing in a ten-foot dinghy. They were accompanied by a friend named Motteran, aged twenty-four. / A' stiff breeze sprang up, and the party, becoming alarmed, to run for shelter. The spread of canvas they carried was too great, however, and the boat was driven under, water in sight of people on the pier. It floated keel up, and the four scrambled on to tho bottom. A life-boat and motor-boat hastened to the assistance of tho party, but , the three brothers Ritter were off and drowned before the rescuers arrived. Motteran was rescued in an exhausted state, and for some time was in a bad way. •'• . The boat was appropriately' named the Venture. '•■"■■
