Tho acquittal of Marnie M'Loughlin, a '"handsome girl of eighteen, who shot her faithless lover at New Orleans while ho was out walking with 'another girl, has been followed by tho perpetration of a second crime in, the same city. Katie Frcitach, the nineteen-year-old daughter of a well-to-do resident of New Orleans, killed her fiance, a man named Michlor, alleging that he had trayed her. Tho girl used a "revolver, and fired at the man in a crowded street. The trial will be delayed, the authorities fearing another acquittal on "unwritten law" grounds.
