HARRIERS TEST RACE.
This afternoon at tho tram "terminus tea-rooms, iliraniar, both, the local harrier clubs will combine and hold a five-mile test race, from which tho selectors, Messrs. J. H. and AV. H. Pollock, will pick a team comprising. six men to represent Wellington at tho Now Zealand-cross-country championships at Invcrcargill next month. Tho Brooklyn Club, in whoso hands the arrangements were left,, have completed id] arrangements, aJid fully thirty competitors aro expected to faco tho starter in what has been styled "the event of tho season." On account of tho centre being unable to finance the team south, tho Brooklyn men will hold a concert on Monday evening at Fnllford's Hall, Brooklyn, in ordor to defray tho expenses of their men who may be chosen in tho representative team.
