Tho Federal Government will convert all volunteer infantry regiments into militia. OBITUARY. , Melbourne, August 26. The Very Rev. George Oakley Vance, Dean of Melbourne, is dead. Tho cause of death was pneumonia. [Dr. Vance is tho second, Dean of Melbourne, and was elected in 1894. He was the son of an English clergyman, and was born in 1829. After his ordination he came to Melbourne in 1852.]
