SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Stronp soUth-woslerly winds have backed to nortlicrhos in most parts of the country. Rain has fallen on the West Coast of the South Island, but flue and cool weather has prevailed elsewhere. Present indications arc for a fallim; barometer everywhere, anil for the development of a. storm area to the north-west 0/ New Zealand within thirty-six hours. Northerly winds, strong to itale, will probably prevail, with, increasing cloudiness preceding uenoral rain, which is likely to be heavy in the North Island.
