. ACTION BY CITY COUNCIL. .At last night's meeting of the" City Council, -a deputation from the Wellington Trades Council, consisting of Messrs. E. J. Carey (president), and. Craigie, waited upon the council' to ask that steps should be taken to regulate the earlydoor crushes outside theatres and such places of amusement. The deputation asked.if. the sj'steni of early'doors was to be permitted, that they should bo genuine, early doors, and should be so regulated -as to obviate the necessity of people waiting'for an hour or an hour and a half outside before the doors opened.. They, asked that ■ this be done particularly! in: the interests of women and weak people, that a proper "quene" system bo introduced, and that .tho. early doors; be.open- at an early hour before each performance.
