A ue'putation headed by the Hon. C M. Luko, M.L.C., is to wait upon Mr. W, M. Thompson, principal of the firm of Thompson Bros., Ltd., Blair Street, on Friday morning, to ask him to be a candidate for a scat on tho City Council. Mr. W. H. Rayward, of Baldwin and Rayward, consulting engineers, has decided to bo a candidate. The civil action of Jano Dixpn Guthrio v. George Fernandez, a claim of £514- 15s. 6d., for alleged bodily harm, which was set down to be heard in -the Supremo Court yesterday, has been settled out ,of Court. Mr. Herdman acted for the plaintiff. .
