M'Kenzic, in reply, now ■ states tihat lie. has mado inquiry into tho complaint.- He learned that the number of men on tho works was 415. :. that, the period referred to was from , 2nd to 80th June, and that only the. . one gang of four men mado tho rate mentioned. They w-ero very inexperienced workmen; threo of them remained on at tho works afterwards and earned ss. 3d. per day for the next period. All the other parties on. tho work mn<lo the- usual rates.
