Tho seas were high after'a typhoon, and the water rushed in under tho armoured deck and swamped the engineroom. .'■■'' Vice-Adinirad Sir Alfred Winsloo, Commander-in-Chief on the China Station, at once- got into communicatiqn, by means of wireless telegraphy, with the Japaneso Admiralty, "which seut a fleet of warships and salvaging vessels.
