WAIHI MINE. (By TelOErapd.—Press Association.) Auckland, August 23. The Edward lode, which was recently intersected on the bottom level of the waihi mine, lias been pierced for a distance of 15ft. The ore has the appearance of that met with on a higher level, and promises to be of substantial size. At a point nearly overhead of the present crosscut this lode averaged 75ft. wide, > worth £100 per ton, thus giving good prospects. The Martha lode, westward on the same level, shows decided improvement on the. south wall. On the Empire lode, where extensive development works are' taking place in connection* with the openmg up for stoping operations, it has been found that the width of ore is much larger than what was expected, judging, by the drifts when first put through. The Royal lode, goine west is also a strong body of stone of payable grade.

THE GRAND JUNCTION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Walhl, August. 23. As far as can be ascertained, there is no sign of the Royal lode going east being picked up in the recently-commenced crosscuts.
