Captain A. M. M'Diarmid, officer commanding the Wellington Highland Rifles, being aliout to take up his residence in Taranaki, has resigned his command. Captain M'Diarmid is an enthusiastic volunteer officer, and has been associated with tho Wellington Highlanders almost from their establishment 10 years ago, having risen from the ranks. Ho is a keen rifleman and one of the best shots in the battalion. The company intends to have a full-dress church parade before ho goes.
