THE FOOTBALL FATALITY.
FINDING OF THE COEONEB, (By Telesraph.—Prcsß Association.! ' Napier, August 22. Ail inquest was held to-day .touching the death of Sidney Samuel Charlton, aged 22, who was killed at a football match on (Saturday. Evidence was given to the effect that tho ground was very hard, and play very keen, but there was no rough play, though three accidents occurred during tho match. The medical evidence showed that deceased was not in a fit state to play, as he was suffering from acuto dilation of the heart. Death was probably caused, the doctors said, by overexertion, and tho heavy fall .which deceased sustained was sufficient to fatally injure a heart in tho condition of that of tho deceased. There wore no external nor internal injuries, such as might -bo caused by a blow. The coroner's verdict was in accordance with tho medical evidence, and ho added that the fatality would have occurred as readily if the ground had been in a soft condition.
