At the animal meeting of: the Masterton Co-operative Dairy Company on '■" (Saturday afternoon the report and bal-ance-sheet • wero adopted. Tho report showed that during the past year the financial position had improved.- Tenpence per pound for butter-fat had been paid out to suppliers, and a sum of money put to the sinking fund. A : pasteurising plant was about to be in- : • stalled, and it was expected that : milk from 300 extra cows would be supplied : ' in the coming year. Complaint was made that local tradespeople did not support tho company as loyally as they should "ido. Messrs. Wright,'-. Thompson, and P. Cotter were elected to the ;; directorate. ■ _The art classes at the '• .Masterton Technical School have been considerably strengthened as, a result -of tho recent art exhibition. CREYTOWN. The usual- monthly meeting, ot tho committee of the Greytown High School was. held on Friday evening last. The minutes of the last meeting were iread' and confirmed. The ' headmaster's ■' report ' was-' read and . adopted, and accounts-amounting to £21 16s. 4d...were passed' for payment. Messrs. Honry and -Maxton were appointed visitors for. the. month.. A large attendance of dancers and onlookers was present at the', military ball held in the Town Hall on Thurs- . day evening. At a meeting of the Dairy Union suppliers held.last week the opportunity was taken to record the suppliers' appreciation and esteem of the late manager of the Woodville factory, Mr. E. Harding. Aid Corporation; which financed tho settlers of the block, and,was tho last survivo'r of its staff. He founded, and; was for 33 years (up .to the time of his, death),. secretary of the Foresters' Lodge here, besides occupying-, tho secretaryship of the Masonic Lodge for 28:} years, and was' one of the founders of the Oddfellows' Lodge. Mr. Foster* • is survived by.a widow, five.sons, four daughters, forty T eight grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. (Bro, Salok; of Wellington), announced that the necessary steps for tho .imialgama* tion of tho Loyal Awarua Lodge (Obi-' nagiti) with the Loyal Kangitikei Lodge (Mangaweka) 'had been : , taken, and would shortly bo an accomplished fact. After considerable' discussion upon the deficiencies accruing in the, medical aid funds of tho lodges, it was resolved that the following notice of. motion be placed on the' order paper for the animal 'meeting of tho Wanganui district: "That the B.M.C. be asked to : add tho following words to General Rule, No. 53 Clause: 'Viz., and that tho medical pence.be paid by all members in advance.'" The various bal-ance-sheets showed ""that there was a sum of £1200 standing to the credit of tho various lodges awaiting investment. - '
