NEW TELEGRAPH.FORM.
■■ —4 . . ■'' TO BE ISSUED TO-DAY.: '/ Prom to-day the ' white flimsy little telegram onvelopo, bearing the familiar red-seal,of the Government on its face, will be relegated to tho things that were. It has served its term faithfully and well, and now goes to its long rest. Since the institution of telegraphic communication in New Zealand this red-sealed envelope has been associated with events of importance in the minds of nearly every adult. It has brought joy and sadness, fortune and misfortune, tears and smiles, and it is not without just a little tinge of sentiment of_ a regretful character that the publio will see it, lapse into disuse. JTrom this morning the envelope and message form will be replaced by tho new idea, which has been described in these columns—n lolded form, tho ends of which are stuck together at the back *with an official "sticker." This method avoids the duplication of the'' address, as when folded the address on the!message appears outside in front, and at the back, exposed to view, is the time the, message was received, tho office of origin, nnd instructions. Under the old system' it was possible for a telegram for one person to be placed in an envelope addressed to another. This is now impossible. : Other advantages of the new system are the saving in time and labour,- and economy 'in . stationery. '
