A WILLIS STREET SENSATION.
EXCITING CHASE. On Saturday at about 6p.m. a man Was arrested after having, it is alleged, made a daring raid on tho premises of Mr. F. Grady, jeweller, in Willis Street. It is stated that he, broke. tho plate-glass window of Mr. Grady'a shop, and, seizing a number of rings, '• made off at top speed. He was followed by Mr. A. Jacobs, who, with Mr. B. Nathan, held him until'a constable arrived, when ho was taken into custody. A number of rings' were dropped on the footpath, but these, together. with those in the man's ' possession, '. wore secured. The man's hands were both cut, ■ through coming in • contact with the breaking glass, one •of them . rather badly. He will appear at the Magistrate's Court this .' morning to answer for the alleged raid.
