"HONOUR WHERE HONOUR IS DUE."

Sir, —Out of the budget'of letters that appeared in last Saturday's issue of your paper upon various subjects, there was one which was so after my own heart that 1 travo a short space to comment upon it. 1 refer to the letter signed "Fire and Brimstone." I most heartily endorso every word except tho signature. I think it was most ungenerous and uncalled-for on the part of that gentleman who, at a meeting of the Presbytery last week, cast a reflection on your paper becauss you did not sec eye to eye with him over one particular question. I have no hesitation in saying thnt most of tho citizens of Wellington, as well as thoso in the up-country districts where your paper is so widely circulated, will agrco with me that before the advent of The Dominion newspaper there was little, if any, prominence given to either religious or moral questions, and as to politics wo. had a very one-sided idea, as the other local papers were on the same side in politics. We' were in "sair. straits" indeed. But since your much-esteemed paper came into existence great publicity has been given to the important subjects mentioned above. And we have had not only publicity, but'we have had fair play, true reports, and a.fearless account of both sides of the question in your columns. In conclusion, I would like to offer a tribute of praise nnd gratitude to your paper, and "long may it live" to uphold "truth," "justice," and "fair play" in our community.—l am, etc.,' READER.
