THE CHURCH AND THE PEOPLE. ■■; Sir,-7rTho bedrock of morality is ;tiie moral law, still uhrcpealcd,'a giiide by a loving < Creator to iiis creature man. Consolidated, by onr Lord, it should still be man's guiding star. That the theatrical performances of the present company in the'city are immoral lam not able to judge. I maintain the conduct of the religious teachers of the.present'day is immoral in wrecking' .this;, moral law, by the'substitution of Sunday for the Sabbath.. , ' If they break tho fourth commandment is it to bo wondered at that piny .writers and people think lightly of the'seventh? took them up, for .they are turning them out of the. churches' as absolute. -4 am, etc.,' ■ 1 '.
