MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.

The 'Missions to Seamen' Institute was 'crowded on Wednesday evening,' when the ■pupils of Misses Baber and Richmond's school provided a most delightful entertainment: Mr. James Moore, the missioner, presided, and .the Kcv. J. ]?. Gibbing, formerly a Missions to Seamen chaplain in London, also occupied a seat on the platform. The following contributed items, to ...tho programme:—Pianoforte duet, Misses Keitha and Isabel; violin, solo, Miss C. Leatham; pianoforte solo, Miss G. Dodgshun. Tho Glee Party rendered several very beautiful glees and were loudly applauded. The audience sang several popular choruses, Mr. Jones (s.s. Warrimoo) playing the accompaniments. A conundrum competition was won by sailors from ships in port. Nine men took the pledge of total abstinence. The performers and Miss Baber were accorded a hearty vote of thanks at thoconclusion, and light refreshments were dispensed. '•■ Tho .anniversary services will be held on Sunday morning, when tho Welling-' lon Navals will be .present. On Wednesday next tho annual meeting will beheld, when tho chair will bo occupied by the Prime Minister, and a special programme of music will bo submitted.
