BOY FARMERS.
"GO ON THE LAND!" ' Some i time ago it was announced in these columns that the Wellington Boys' Institute .was contemplating a movement for placing town boys on farms. Many boys have a natural tunic lor agriculture, .but owing to their environment do not get a chance to pursue their bent. Others who might.do well in. the country .are by force of circumstances kept in tho cities, and often acquire habits which.. eventually create. an aversion to life in the country. Following up this idea, Mr. C. P. Coloneus, general secretary of the institute lias addressed the following letter to the provincial secretaries of branches .'of the New Zealand Farmers'. Union :-"The Wellington Boys' Institute was organised and is conducted for the purpose of making good citizens of the-, boys who come under its influence Kealising.that it would be of benefit, toi. the boys ■ themselves, and through them'-to-the country at large, if more of-our,;.city boys would, lake. up agricultural pursuits, we are endeavouring to interest boys in'.farm work, aiul hope to induce somoof them to take it up as. a vocation. If your . association mil forward lusts of vacancies for boys on farms from time to lime,-wo will endeavour, to iind suitable ' boys to take the places ottering. All communications addressed to the' secretary,'. Agricultural Employment Bureau, Wellington Boys'-' Institute,- Wellington, will Teceive our prompt attention." . ■
