In the : House'• recently, Mr. : Buchanan, M.P. for the Wairarapa, asked the Minister for ; 'Eailways. why- tlie .'three H cattle.,.;trucks -ordered by Mr. T. Mackenzie- on July 13 for loading at, Masterton on the 19tli wore not supplied,-instead of the-undivided T truck, thus risking, serious' damage on the Eirautaka incline to the. valuable stock consigned. The Minister replied, inter alia:. "The Department does not undertake . to supply any particular class of truck at any particular •time."' Mr; Buchanan contended last night that this reply was gratuitous jnd .not. polite. Tho trucks ordered should have been supplied. The cattle (to: bo consigned wore purebred cattlo heavy in calf. H trucks-had been sent on the same day .for another order re.ceived' later.
