Vibration, the, winner of the Maiden Race,'.is a three-year-old colt by Papakura from Detonation. .He claims engagements in the C.J.C. and Great Northern Derbies; also in the Wanganui and Jackson Stakes.' IT. Meagher, who rode l him, was making his first appearance ;in'public'and rode a'capital race. The country to be jumped in the iteeplcehase events was fairly stiff, and this was particularly the case with the jpar fenco opposite the Highden stables,

and also the double in front of the stand. At tho latter jump the two fences were placed too close together.

St. Amelia was in a class by herself in.tho Hunters' Hurdles field, and when given. her.head she went to the front and gavo nothing else a clianco.

, Tho Maiden Hack Plato afforded owners of. youngsters an excellent opportunity of' giving their horses a run in public, and they availed themselves of it in large numbers.

Hydroseope broke down badly during the running of iho Manawatu Hunt Club Steeples.

Somo questionable riding was seen in the Ladies' Bracelet, and what looked like, an attempt to interfere with the favourite Himitangi was noticeable.

Luxury was well when she fell in the Hunt Club Steeples, and her party wore very sanguine of her ability to score. She is a fine big, black mare, and can gallop well; She was ridden by an Aucklander, Mr. F. Selby.

The Native, who was making his second appearance, was, the best backed in the six-furlong Hack Race, and Oliver landed him a clever winner from Zoraida.

'The Hunters' Plato -was a splendid race, and resulted in a very close finish between the three placed horses. Himitaigi, though he had a hard two-mile race an hour earlier, ran well, and was only beaten in tho last stride. EGMONT-WANGANUI H.C. WEIGHTS.
