EMBEZZLEMENT CHARGES.
PEETH ACCOUNTANT SENTENCED, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. . • . Perth, August 17. John Black; accountant, has been found guilty on charges of stealing three sums of thirty pounds each, the property of his lato employors, Frcedinan Brothers, whom he accused each of stealing the partnership moneys, and defrauding the insurnnco companies > by the claims filed after a fire on the firm's premises. The judge, in summing up, expressed regret that the Freedman Brothers' reputation had been assailed without justification. Ho knew of no. ovidence to show the Freedmans as other than honest men. Black was sentenced to five years' imprisonment with hard labour.
