The monthly meeting of the Victoria College Council was held last evening, . there being present: The .chairman (Mr. J 11. I'. von llaast), and Jttepsrs. C. Wil- . son, E. D.' Bell, -J. G. W.' Aitken, A. T. Magimiity, A. W. Hogg, M.P, A. B. Meek, W. H. Quick; U. U. Ostler, Dr. / C. I'. Knight, and Sir' Robert Stout,It was resolved, on the recommendation of the Finance Committee, that the Professorial Board having favourably reported upon the work of Mr. R. Kennedy, a Jacob Joseph scholar, the first instalment of the scholarship bo paid to him. It was also decided, upon the recommendation of the Library Committee,- that the registrar shall -prepare an account at (lie end of each year showing what proportion of the books ordered bv each professor have not been supplied. 'No change,in the suppliers of periodicals' will be mado at present. ' Tenders arc invited' for the supply of >■ machinery for the Ashburton Butter Faatory. ' ?
