It is reported in Washington that President Tait has' made terms with the "Insvrgents" of the Republican party. Mr. A. R, Ballinger, Secretary of the Interior, will shortly retire. Mr. Ballinser's connection with certain powerful interests, which were attempting to corner water-power "and coal in Alaska wta recently the subject of a Congressional inquiry. ' The .'Administration will not support the re-election of Mr. Joseph Cannon, the autocratic Speaker of the Honse of Representatives, who a short time back suffered defeat at the hands'of the Insurgent Republicans' and the Democrats, largely as a protest against the alliance of the party, machine with "business interests." ' Senator Aldrich, the organiser of the party machine in the Senate, has been dropped from tho inner Republican councils. -
