Messrs. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., re- , port on their sale held yesterday ae follows:— We offered a good catalogue to ,a large attendance of buyers. Bidding km brisk, and prices for wool and skins were very firm, whilst hides were again easier. Wool: Good crutchtngo,. 5Jd. to 53d.; medium crutchings, sd. to 5Jd.; pieces, 3Jd. to 4Jd. Skins: Half to three-quarter wools, 7d. to 7id.; half-wools, 6Jd. to 63d.; dead, 6d.; damaged crossbreds, 5Jd. to 6id.; shorts and inferior, 4d. to Sid.; butchers' half-dry and green, heavy, 7s. 7d. to Bs. 2d.; medium. 6s. 9d. to 7s. 4d.; light, As, 10d to 6s. Ed.; lambs, 3s. 2d. to 4s. 61 Hides, light to medium ox, 5Jd. to 61d.; heavy cows, 5Jd. to 5Jd.; light cows, 53d. to 53d. ; medium-conditioned calf, 7Jd. to Bd. Tallow, in shipping order, £27 15s. per ton; in tins, 21b. to 21s. 9d.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report ae follows:- Wo offered and sold at yesterday's sale about 30 bales and 21 bags of 'wool, 1500 skins, 150 hides, and a quantity of tallow. Buyera attended In good numbers, and competition was brisk at late rates, with crutchings perhaps a little high. We quota:—Wool: Crossbred inferior, 6Jd. to 6Jd.; crutchings, medium, 51d. to 6d.; crutchings, inferior and seedy, 3d. to 5d.; bellies and pieces, 3d. to sid.; lambe, 7Jd. Sheepskins: Crossbred,, medium, 73d. -to 81d.; crossbred, coarse, 636". to 7id;; crossbred, quarter to halt-woolled, 4id. to 6Jd.; oelts, damaged, ljd. to 4Jd.; dead and broken skins, 43d. to 6Jd.; lambskins woolly, 7d. to 7id.; lambskins, shorn, 4»d. to 6d.; green skins, 2s. 6d. to 7s. 9d. each. Hides weru. lower by Jd. ner.lb. We quote:—Cow and light ox, 5Jd. to 53d. per lb.; faulty and- dry hides, 23d. to 5d.calfskins, sound, BJd.; calfskins, damaged, 4|d. to 6sd. Tallow, in tins, 21s. 6d. to 225. 3d. per cwt.
Messrs. Levin and Company, Limited, report:—We held our fortnightly sale yesterday, when we offered 40 bales of wool, 2500 Bhcepskins, 1050 hides and calfskins, and a Quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers. Wool sold generally ou a par-wlth recent prices, with crutchings in better demand. We quote:—Fine crossbred, Bd. to Bid.; coarse crossbred, 6Jd. to 7Jd.; lambs wool, 6Jd. to 81; pieces and bellies, Id. to 5d.; locks, 2Jd: to 4Jd.; crutchings, 4d. to 6«d. Skins: Dry skins show a, rise of a farthing per lb., while green skins were in good demand at better prices. We quote:—Fine crossbreds, Bd. to 83d.; medium crossbredß, 7d.:to Bd.; coarse crossbreds, 6d. to 7Jd.; dead hoggets, sd. to 6Jd.; lambskins, 53d. to 73d.; quarter to halfwools, 4|d. to 63d.: dry pelts, 2Jd. to-5Jd.; ereen Bkins, ss. Bd. to 7s. lid.; lambskins, 2s. 6d. to 4s. 9d. Tallow was -slightly easier. Parcels ill shipping order, £27 155.; tins, £20 to £22 10s.; rough fat, £1U to £16. .Homhair, Is. to Is. Bd. per lb. Horns, ss. to 15s. per hundred. Oowtaile, Is. 6d. per dozen. Hides were difficult to sell, except at a reduction of Jd. to Jd. per lb. Calfskins were also lower, - and recent high values cannot be obtained nt present. We anote:—O.t hides (heavy), 6»d. to 63d.; ox hides (medium), 6}d. to 6*d.; ox hides (light), 53d. to od.; cow hides, s}d. to 6d.; cut and slippy hides. 3d. to 6id.; stne hides, 4d. to 5Jd.; Imll bides,'4l to 51d.; yearlinss, sd. to 5?d.; calf, best, 9d. to 9Jd-; calf, medium, 7Jd. to Bid.; calf, cut and sllpny, sa. to 6|d.
Messrs. Murray, "Roberts, and Co. report:—We catalogued yesterday 35 bales of wool, 2700 sheepskins, ZOO hides, and a quantity of tallow. The attendance was about as numerous as usual, bidding being extremely keen for'wool and skins. Hides showed a, good deal of irregularity, and may he quoted on the whole about a farthing lower than last Bale. Tallow was firm for parcels in good shipping order, but tins and. odd lots showed a lower range of values, rtroonine about Is. to Is. 6d. per cwt. We quote prices as follows:— Wool: Crossbred fleece, rough. 7d. to Bd. per lb.; crutchings, good medium, s>d. to 6(1.; onitchincfß, heavy, seedy, etc., 4d. to sd, Sltlns: Fine crossbred apd halfbreds, od. to 83d.; medium , to flue crossbreds, 7i<T. to 81d.; coarse crossbreds and liincolns, 6*d. to 7Jcl.; crnssbreds, inferior pelted, s!d. to 6Jd.: lambs. 6d. to 7Jd.; short to half-wools, 5Jd. to 7d.; dead skins, 4Jd. to 63d.; badly damaged, 2S.d. to .
