At tie inquiry regarding 'the Richmond railway disaster, the fog signaller, Emmett, stated that ho put down two detonators each timo the distant signal was at danger, 1 and was about to put one flown when the train loomed out of the fog. He had just time to jump back. '.-■■- One of the firemen, Burke, said that after the accident ho told tho,chairman of the Railway Commissioners that they had the signals all right, but could not see the home signals on account of the fog. '
