SLAUGHTERMEN'S STRIKE.
THE TEOUBLE IN SYDNEY. By Teleeruph-Press Association-Copyrlelt. Sydney, August 12. The slaughtermen at the Sydney Meat Preserving. Company's works refused to work yesterday afternoon, because the sheep arrived at 1.10 instead of 1 o'clock. The Globo Island masters now offer twenty-fiyo shillings instea'd of twentythreo shillings per hundred for slaughtering sheep. Tho union officials are inclined to favour accepting piece-work on those terms, and will place tho proposal before a mass meeting to-nignt.
