August 10, 0.15 a.m.) '■,'■' • 'J V ■"■■ ■ Perth Augusi 9. , The trial of Black, the accountant in the employ of Friedman and Co.j charged with stealing the moneys of tho firm, and who replied by accusing tho partners of using him as a scapegoat for their own thefts of the .firm's money, is proceeding. Solomon Friedman stated that about £8000 had been stolen from the firm. Hβ denied Black's former statements. Abraham Friedman has also returned from England and repudiated the charges mado by Black at, the former trial. He characterised the whole defence as blackmailing.
