* Messrs. Dalgety and Company report:—' We held a sale of dairy cows on account of Messrs. J.,and W. Hurra-y at Tercliunga, Dannevirke, yesterday. There.was a good attendance of buyers, and keen competition. Altogether, 49 cows were offered, all', selling.,- -.Prices 'ranged-.; from, £6- to-£lO 155.; the line (excludine two unsound ani-mals)-averaging over £9.per head. ■ Ifr.. Freeman -B. Jackson's stock, report, date August 8, is as follows:—On. August 2 we..had a.special, sale at TVaverley of dairy. cows and heifers,, some 2CD , head being offered. • All - classes close td calving elicited' Keen, bidding,'.the majority of the. cows ■ being sold at '-auction. Some, nice lines of -heifers , were offered. Although several none , were passed at auction we quitted practically everything "before the- day closed. Several pens of nicc-'Lincoln breeding ewes offered on account of P. Bourke's estate, made from 16s. to 255. Zd. A small yarding of cattle found ready pur. chasers.
