A STREET DANGER.
Sir,—Permit me to encroach on your space to voice a public grievance, which 1 am sure is apparent to many of our citizens. I reter to the very unsatisfactory custom of leaving the street plugs bo prominently exposed that they pruve a very dangerous obstruction to sill classes of traffic. Is the council in the humour to remove this nuisance, or is it going to postpone operations till a serious accident and consequent lawsuit have relieved it of some of its superfluous wealth? Lot the' Mayor or any of the councillors treat themselves to a drive round the outlying streets, and, if the necessity. for im.provememt in this matter does not appeal to them, they ought to consult a doctor. If it does appeal to them, lot us hope they will act on the evidence of 'hfiii senses. liy leavin-j • Mich "deathtraps" to menace the public, the council is. runuing a very foolish and unnecessary risk, and it would be well to take im-nu-ctiato precautions to .safeguard against a possible fatality and its attendant evils. Thanking you in anticipation.—l am, etc., PRO BONO PUBLICO.
