At a meeting of: the Auckland clubs affiliated with the Northern Bowling Association, which was held this .evening to discuss the proposed new constitution, the following resolution, was carried:— That this meeting >f bowlers affiliated with the, Northern Bowling Association is opposed to the new constitution of.'tho Northern Bowling, Association, and is of opinion that, if any change be made "in •the present constitution of the North Island Bowling Association, a scheme bo formulated for the formation'of-a Now'' Zealand Bowling. Association, and that each of the principal cities become provincial- associations . affiliated with tho said New.Zealand.Bowhns: Association. It,was decided to .forward.'to", every affiliated club a, copy of the resolution with, a request that it be forwarded to 'their deltgate in Wollingtoi.. with instructions to • vote according to the resolution. ,'•/■'' It .was decided to request the secretary of each club to forward a copy of the same resolution to the secretary' ofht:e Northern Bowling Association. ■ At the conclusion of. the meeting of affiliated clubs a largely-attended meeting of Auckland bowlers was Held; at- which ■the following, proposal was earned:— That this mass.meeting of bowlers, held at Auckland, on August 4, 1910, is opposed to the proposed; new' constitution 1 of the uVor.thern Bowling Association, and is distinctly of the opinion that such constitution would.,not be .conducive to the best,interests of bowling in.the Auckland Province. .: •It was decided', to. send copies of the resolution to every, club affiliated with the Auckland 'Province Bowling Association, and to the secretary of the Northern Bowlisg Association.

Tho injuries .were attended to by Dr. nenry, and the patient was removed to the hospital. Scrimgeour, who is a married man residing at Ngaio, is, employed by tho Harbour Board as a tally clerk. Ho'was taken to the hospital.. Officers, commanding squadrons and companies are'requested to ' have tho arms in .their charge held in readiness' for the annual inspection of the Government Armourer, which will be carried out during the' months of August and' September. It .is most important, states the Department, that the arms should be arranged,'for his inspection on the dates fixed, m order that ho may not be delayed and his route upset/ ' ' The successful tenderers for the supply to the Wellington City Corporation of steel plates, standards, and joists.for tho Tramways Department are Messrs. J. Duthie and Co., Ltd., at .£75 ss. sd. The unsuccessful tenders were Briscoe, -M'Neil and Co., Ltd.,- ,£93 10s.; and Sanders Bros., ,£112.105. ; The Railway Hotel, Taumarunui, has boon taken over bv Mrs. K. M'Grane, well and favourably known in Wellington, where she for some time ran a very successful business.. .Under Mrs. M'Grano's direction, the Railway Hotel has been refurnished throughout, the management has been remodelled and travellers may safqlv rely upon receiving every attention. Tho building, which is two-story, has fine well vntutitu'i'd «l«glo and double rooms, hot and cold rfater, excellent table, and accommodation for sixty guests.
