Tuesday's meeting of the Auck- , land Harbour Board from the Marine •■ Department. The Department forwarded :a copy of. a letter, (says the" herald") on tne subject, received by the Governor from the Vice-Admiral. of the Australasian Station, Sir R., Poore. The A'iceAdmiral stated:. "The Admiralty have . approved of either H.M.S. Tantome or --■ Sealark being detached 'temporarily to . make a re-survey, of Auckland Harbour and its approaches, after the return of the vessels to Sydney to refit, about the • end-of_ this ..year, on condition tbat the New Zealand Government will provide the necessary vessel and men'-and assist generally by erecting marks, etc., required by the officers employed. . I should bo • glad .to be informed aa to what vessel and'men.it is proposed to provide. A further communication will be made to your Excellency when the date-on which the necessary. officers will be available is" known. ■ The'.
