-—♦ ■ HOW NEW ZEALAND LOST TEEM, The sad story of bow New Zealand lost two farmers, two prospective husbands, and two millionaires all in one stroke was told in the: House yesterday by Mr. A. E. Glover. His remarks arose (ho said) out of the unsatisfactory state of the Vancouver mail service, in, that there was a lack of connection between Suva and Now Zealand. Two young American millionaires who were coming over to New Zealand to take up land took the Vancouver boat, and landed at Suva, intending-to take the first vessel to Auckland. They evidently found life at Suva slow, and determined to proceed to Sydney, and proceed. from that port to New Zealand. They got to Sydney, and as surely as they did the . chances of New Zealand getting two millionaire settlers . were shattered, for the Sydney people treated these million- . aire squatters royally, showed them ranches that appealed to them, and nou ■■9 two Americans are farming somewhere near the Blue Mountains.
