IFrom Our Special Correspondent.) DR.. HENRY'S MISSION. Dr. Hflnrv and Mrs. Pot'ts bade farewell to the Hutt-Valley last evening. Ai the close of the mission, the Rev. H. Thomson., on behulf of the. Mission Executive, ■ expressed their souse of gratitude for the great measure of effort put forth by Dr. Henry and his parly. JLhe mission had cemented the churches of the Hutt Valley, and ho looked for abundant fruit, as the result. The Rev. H. Williams and Mr. Hemcr also spoke. . HUTT -FIRE BRIGADE. ■ The monthly 'meeting, of. Lower Hutt Fire Brigade was held at the station rooms last ovening, when Captain Slinn presided over ;i good attendance of members. Mr. W. ,P. Pnngle forwarded a chequo for two guineas toward the brigade's funds, in recognition ; of services rendered at his recent lire. Ihe secretary was instructed to return a letter of thanks. The, bmtctl lire Brigades' Association, wrote . enclosing subjects and conditions of the prizo essay competition. It was resolved to vote the sum of 10s. sd. to the .Peatn Relief Fund, initiated in Hamilton. The captain reported that the brigade had been called out on three occasions during, the past month. Fireman Strand forwarded his resignation as branchman. The secretary announced that Fireman Strand's sick pay would be to hand in a day or two 4 committee, consisting of Captain Slinn, Secretary Baldwin, Assistant-Fore-man Doran, and Fireman Brooker was set up, to act in conjunction with the i'o.tone Brigade in reference to the forthcoining competitions on Labour Day. PETONE THEATRE. Special attractions for skaters are announced for next. Saturday night at the Petpne Palace Theatre. To suit the convenience of learners, a session is held (and will continue till further notice)' from 6.30 to 7.30 in the evening. Splendid patronage has been accorded the management since the opening day. HUTT .SKATING RINK. There was an excellent attendance at thu Lower Hutt Skating Rink last evening, . a large number of skaters from 'Wellington being present. Despite , other counter attractions, the floor space, which is claimed by the management to bo lie largest in the North Island, is well taxed, and the instructors are kept busy in the learners' room, owing to. the continued increase of novices. The arrangements in connection with the forthcoming carnival are well in hand, and patrons should book seats early... A learners' race will be held next Saturday night, along with other attractions. A brass band is . in attendance every evening. TEMPLARS. The Hope of Petone Lodge of Good Templars met in the Ranfurly Hall, Petone, last, evening, for their weekly session, Bro. W. Denby, C.T., presiding over a large attendance of members, while visitors from the Lower Hutt and •;ity lodge were also present. Two' new members were initiated, and several proposed. The new officers were duly installed by the L.D., Bro. 'Townsenu, assisted by Hro. Prince, of Star of Australasia (Naval),, and Sister Robertson, of Still i>{ Wellington. A fust-class programme for next quarter wos presented by tie new Harmony Committee,
