NEW BILL CRITICISED. ByTetoErraph—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, August 3. The Arbitration Amendment Bill was opposed by every speaker in the House of Representatives. Hγ. Greeue, the chief speaker, said that if it was put to work in rural districts it would drive many struggling farmers off the land. The provisions with regard to rural workers had been copied from tho New Zealand Act. Mr. Greene pointed out that the conditions were widely different, owing to Australia's vaster area and more changeable climate. Mr. Kelly said if preference to unionists were given tho unions should not havo power to keep the workers out. The discussion wns adjourned.
