It is stated, on what seems to be very good authority (says our travelling correspondent), that coal of a first-class •bituminous quality has been discovered on a'farm at Tβ Moire, fifteen miles down the Wanganui River from Tautnarunui. The property possessing the valuable deposit comprises ; 1400 acres, and has just been purchased by Mr. D. M. Cooper from Messrs. Dunn Bros., for 30s. an acrej'with the right of converting it into a freehold on payment of a further Kun of 30s. per acre..
