THE TROUBLE IN TIBET.
RESTORATION OP DALAI'LAMA POSSIBLE. By Telegraph-Press Association-Oopyrisht. (Rec. August 2, 11.40 p.m.) Peking, August 2. Reuter's correspondent says the Chinese attribute the danger at Gyengtse to the chagrin of the ' Tibetans at Great Britain's refusal to assist in restoring the Dalai Lama. It is rumoured that China is seriously considering the reinstatement of the Dalai Lama as the only means of securing tranquillity. A company of sappers and miners and 48 pioneers have been ordered to move from Siliguri upon tho Darjeeling railway, which will be the base of any operations that may become necessary.
