About thirty ■> members • attended' tha :i inaugural meeting of the" Union Parlia-, nieut,' hold in the Y.M.C.A. rooms last evening. The Speaker, Mr. A. H. Casey, had au orderly assemblage to, control, although it was evident, as the evening / progrnsscd, that party, feeling ran high.i The'newly-appointed Ministry consists of:-.,-Messrs. W. E. Dickinson (Premier, Minister for Finance, and Minister for Lands' and Agriculture), Mr. A. Parton ; (Min-. ister for Public Works, and PostmasterGeneral), Mr. C. B. Robertson (Minister for Railways; and Minister for Defence), Mr. P. Castle (Minister for ' | Internal ' Affairs, and-Minister-'for Public Health), Mr. H. W. Airy (Minister for Labour, Mines, and Immigration), Mr.:-A. Hob-' son (Attorney-General, Minister for Edu- , cation and, Native Affairs), Mr. dith (Minister for. Customs and' Marine," and Minister, for Justice). Among, the announced ."planks", of- ■ the ■ Govorument may be mentioned a freehold land.policy; with the application of the optional sys. tern to all ..lands opened for selection, ;, and the granting of the freehold to Crown ■ tenants "on reasonable terms." The Addrcss-in-Eeply was moved.by Mr. A. E. Budd, in a vigorous speech, und was ably seconded, .by Mr. ■ Meredith. The ensuing debate was - : briskly'.maintained. '
