SUPREME COURT.

IN BANKRUPTCY. Mr. Justice Cooper lield a sitting of the Supreme Court in ' Bankruptcy yesterday morning.- ' A motion for the 'discharge of .Tolm Morris Schapiro, cabinet-maker, of Wellington, who'is now in gaol serving a sentence for failing to keep proper books of account, was adjourned on the application of Mr. P. Levi until the next sitting in Bankruptcy so as to enable the bankrupt to attend. In the bankruptcy of William Georgo Somerville, solicitor, of Wellington, a motion to admit proofs, which had been rejected' by the Official Assignee, was postponed until next sitting, on the application of Mr. P. Levi. Mr. 'J'. Young appeared in support of a motion for the discharge of Holland Andrews, architect, of Wellington. This motion was before his Honour at the last sitting, and was sent back in order that the opinion of the creditors might be obtained at a fresh meeting. The Official Assignee (Mr. A. Simpson) reported tliat the meeting was held, the creditors having had due'notice. ! Fifteen attended and unanimously passed a resolution in favour of tho discharge.. The discharge was granted. 'l'he discharge of William Edwin Bateman, cabinet-makei, 'l'awa Flat (Mr. T. Young),'-was also graiited. This_ had been adjourned from the April sitting to allow further time for creditors to lodge any objections. Orders for taxation in the bankruptcies of Samuel Howan, butcher, of Wellington, and George Morris, of Wellington, were granted on the motion of the Ofticihl Assignee. The next sitting in Bankruptcy was fixed for Monday, - September 2G, at 10.30 a.m. His Honour announced the issue of orders releasing the Official Assignee from the administration of the estates of tho following; persons Thomas Joseph Broome, John Kitben Skelley, Newman and Son (Frederick Newman and Adolph Newman). John William Law, John i'oussell, John Hill, Jas. Lewis Co., Thos. Wainwright, Sidney Mark Clarke, Francis Wm. Oakley, Eoland M'Nab, Miriam Cohen, . John Youlin Birch, Harry ; Cole, Win. Leonard Heath, Lawrencc Spytr, James Delaney, Alfred - Lawrence Haywood, Joseph Edward Montgomerie. James Troy, Wm. John A. Farrelly, Geo. Thos. Harris jun., John Bell Lindsay, Elizabeth Ann ■ Mill, Jas. Eobt. Patterson, Percy Stevens, Wm. Wilson, and Arthur Edward Spier.
