BOWLS.
KELBURNE CLUB. The annual meeting of tlio Kolbume Bowling Club.was hold on.Friday evening, Mr. J. C. Williamson presiding. The annual report deplorqs the , loss the club sustained through tho death of Mr. A. I; Littlcjohn, and through the departure from Wellington of Mr. W. Biiuiio, who has been transferred to Auckland. Tho green has given satisfaction to members and visiting bowlers during the past season. Through the generosity of a majority of members, tho balance of the debt on the' pavilion,- owing since 1905, has been paid- oil. Mr. Mauloy won the club championship; Mr. Dinnie's Cup, and tho vice-president's Junior Bowls. Mr. M. Routley won tho President's Bowls. I)i connection with the club trophies—Hamorton Badges, Campbell Crescents, etc.—members aro urgedto give greater attention to these during tho coming season. The report adds: — "In view of the falling duo of the mortgage next month, your committee hayo during tho year devoted considerable .time and attention to the . financial position of tho club. Important- proposals wili bo placed befo.-t you, including the formation of tlic club into a limited liability company, which, if. agreed .to, will place the club on a firm footing." , ..,...■■ With regard, to the latter., proposal, a motion that the club be formed into a limited, liability company was uiianjiiiously carried. , Ninety, .(preference shares-in Jihe company were;taken up in tho room. .The balance-sheet shows a. slight improvement in the. finances of tho club. Thanks were extended to Mr.,!!'- A: Hamerton for gratuitous, services rendered in levelling the : green, and to Mr. R. W. M'Villy for his services as auditor. A profit of £il 15s. resulted from tho danco' held Inst. year. , . The election of officers resulted as follows:—President,, Mr. J. 0. Williamson (ro-elcoted); vice-president, Mr. E. C. Gannaway; secretary, Mr. A. W. Knowles (re-elected); treasurer, Mr. R. .15. Mauley.; auditor, Mr, 11. AV. M'Villy (re-elected); committee, Messrs. Baldwin, Bianchard, J. -G. Dawson, Johnston, and M. Routley. Messrs. ffi. W. Mills and Co. and Mr. E. S. Baldwin promised pairs of • bowls to tho two members securing the greatest number of new members before January 1, 1911.
