Tho returns' of exports for tho year ended June 30 show a very substantial increase on last year's figures, being:— 1910,.£1,893,655; 1909/ £1,575,046. ' The chief, increaso isi in wool, the value of which exported in 1909-10 was £1,242,160, as against £855,845 in tho preceding year. ■'.■'.■ V
EARTHQUAKE SHOCKS. ' Palmerston North, July 30. ; A sharp shock of earthquake .was felt in Palmerston about-2.15 this morning. It was the most' energetic felt hero for' some time past. At. the dog show, the silver .cup for the;best adult dog bred iff"New Zealand was won by A. Mainland's Julius Caesar. ' A CHURCH REOPENED. Napier, July 31. St. Mary's Roman'.Catholic Church at Port Ahuriri was reopened this morning by Archbishop Redwood, High Mass being celebrated. The Archbishop preached an appropriate : sermon- dealing with the facilities for worship afforded by the new church. There.was a largo congregation, arid the collection amounted to the handsome sum of £118. The Vicar-General of the diocese (Father O'Shea, of '■': Wellington) and the Administrator" (Father Hickson), ;and Deans Smythe and Binsfield were among those present. ' ,'.' THE MAORI TROUPE.
