Sir,—Would you allow mo spact, in your valuod columns to ventilate what I consider an evil, to wit, Chinese fruiterers and grocers and whatnot. Why sir, in some of these country towns it 'is something deplorable and a great menace towards the morals of the European children, to say nothing of the principles that somo of the Chinese adopt commercially. I mean the cutting of the price of tobacco; ami, indeed, whilst I admit the'same argument applies to the grocer who is in himself a detriment to the harmonious working of tho legitimate tobacco dealers—l am, etc., " • NEW ZEALAND!!]?..
