GRAIN AND POTATOES.
(By Tcieffrapn—Press Association.) Christchurch, July 29. There is a fair quantity of wheat offering, but mostly of quality, for which there is no uemand. There is practically no inquiry for wheat for. for-' ward shipment, as tlio Home crop woula be on the market before such shipments could arrive. The prices asked are generally above buyers' limits, aud but little grain changes hands. Prime samples of unweathered wheat, especially pearl, commands good prices, but of this quality offerings are few and far between, and it is difficult to say . what the value really is. Oats show no change in deman'd or price. Potatoes are firmer, as' the late weather lias prevented deliveries, and stocks m merchants' hands arc getting short. Mining news and reports of live stock sales will be found on Page 7 of this issue.
